The Pastors’ Letter:  Combined Worship Service due to Covid-19/Communion

Cross Family,

We are grateful for the numerous ways that so many of you have continued to participate in our worship life together: both on-campus and online! The effects of COVID-19 in our community continually require us to make responsive decisions. Your pastors and congregational leaders are striving to implement the most responsible practices available. With you in mind, one of our main goals is to facilitate meaningful worship opportunities for you each weekend.

The Board of Elders met on Monday evening this week and carefully considered the many perspectives and needs of our worshipping community. As a result of those conversations, we are rolling out the following plan effective July 12, 2020:

  1. One Combined Worship Service
  • 9:30am on Sunday mornings
  • Worship with us in the Sanctuary or online via live stream on Facebook or YouTube
  • Facebook link à
  • YouTube link à
  • If you plan to worship on campus, please bring your mask with you.
  • We are requiring face masks to be worn while entering, exiting, or moving around the sanctuary.
  • You may remove your mask when seated (physically distanced) in sections B, C, or D.
  • Masks still must be worn at all times in section A.
  • (This brings together our “normal” times of 8:30am and 11:00am for now.)

2.Communion Schedule

  • The Lord’s Supper will be offered every other week – beginning July 19
  • No Communion this upcoming Sunday, July 12
  • Weekday private communion in the Sanctuary will continue to be available by appointment

3.Bible Class Time

  • 8:30am on Sunday mornings
  • Remains “learning at a distance” only
  • Video Premiere available on our Facebook, YouTube, and Sermon Net accounts

Many of you have expressed a strong desire to be physically present for worship – so we are doing our best to keep offering a worship service in our sanctuary each Sunday. We also know that many of you are faithfully worshipping with us at a distance (for a variety of reasons) – so we are also committed to establishing and upholding a high-quality Live Stream Ministry as well. If you have questions, comments, feedback, or a desire to support the Worship Ministries of Cross, please contact us in the church office.

Lord willing, we look forward to worshipping with you (wherever you may be) at 9:30am this Sunday!
