SUNDAY BIBLE CLASSES
Meeting in the Fellowship Center, Pastor Fraker leads the study of the Small Catechism of Martin Luther – 2017 Edition.  Retired pastor, Rick Miller, leads a study on the book of Revelation that meets in the “music” room—the room that is just off the large kitchen in the Fellowship Center.  Michael Ullman resumes the study he is leading on the Parables of Jesus that meets in the Parlor, in the Education building.  Classes begin at 10:00 a.m., and all adults are encouraged to attend Bible Class!  Grab a cup of coffee, breakfast taco, and/or donut (served out of the Large Kitchen in the Fellowship Center building,) and join us!  

LOOKING AHEAD
Our Lutheran School will observe and celebrate National Lutheran Schools week, which begins Monday, January 28, and culminates on Sunday, February 3.  On that Sunday, Holy Communion will not be celebrated at the 11:00 a.m. Service.

SUNDAY MORNING
Our youth thank you for supporting their ministry through the weekly Sunday morning purchase of tacos, etc.!  This is the MAJOR source of fundraising for District and National Youth Gatherings, as well as their Servant Event trips!

DIAPER MOUNTAIN!!!…...GOAL 11,000!!  
Help us stand for life—and support young mothers & fathers who do the same!  Each year we celebrate Life Sunday.  This year that celebration will be on Sunday, January 20.  One of the ways we stand for life is through our annual collection of packages of diapers (sizes 3, 4, and 5 are requested!!) to be given to Options For Life, our pregnancy ministry/resource center here in New Braunfels. PLEASE BRING packages of diapers with you to Worship on Sunday, January 20, and thank you in advance!

LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONIC BAND IN CONCERT………
…….SAVE THE DATE
On Tuesday, March 19, 2019, the Symphonic Band from Martin Luther High School of Greendale, Wisconsin, will be at Cross for a 7:00 p.m. Concert during their Texas Tour.  More information will be coming your way!

FUNERAL SERVICE
We pray for the family of Elda Kieschnick, 102 year-old member of Cross—who died Thursday morning. The Funeral Service for Elda will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 10:30 a.m., here in our Sanctuary.  The Committal Service will be at 1:30 p.m., at the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Cemetery on Highway 46.  Visitation with the family takes place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. this Friday, January 18.

PRAYERS for the family of member, Meloy Hansen, who died on December 15. The Memorial Service for Meloy Hansen will be held in our Sanctuary on Friday, January 18, at 11:00 a.m.

WELCOME  to new member Vernon Longenecker, received on Sunday November 30.

CONCORDIA SEMINARY, ST. LOUIS
If you are interested in information regarding becoming a pastor or deaconess, you are invited to meet with Rev. Scott Holder, Admissions Officer at Concordia Seminary.  He will be available for appointments in the metro New Braunfels, TX area on Friday, January 18.  Please contact Rev. ALCOHOL-FREE COMMUNION WINE/GLUTEN-FREE COMMUNION WAFERS For those who desire to receive wine that has been dealcoholized, there are white wine cups in the center of each tray; there are white wine cups in the center of each tray.  In addition, gluten-free wafers are available on the paten (plate) held by Pastor Fraker.

GALATIANS STUDY – MEN’S BREAKFAST BIBLE CLASS (M.B.B.C.) ATTENTION, men of Cross!  We are finishing up our study of Galatians soon.  Stay tuned for announcement about our next Bible study!  You are invited to join us for Bible study/fellowship from 6:30 until 7:30 a.m. at the I-HOP here in town—on the frontage road of I-35.  See you then!
