THANK YOU FROM PASTOR FRAKER
About a year ago, we at Cross were invited to host one of four regional conferences for Lutherans For Life.  That was held Saturday, October 7, and we did a tremendous job of hosting!  The 69 attendees were blessed and impressed.  I thank those from Cross who attended; I am very much appreciative of our Dorcas Guild, our Board for Hospitality, for Joseph Jankauskas, and all others who helped us provide a great place to conference!  In Christ’s love—for life, Pastor Fraker

OCTOBER VOTERS MEETING -LEADERS NEEDED!
Next Sunday, October 22, the Voting Assembly of Cross will meet for the final regular Voters meeting of the year.  The meeting is held at 12:30 in the Fellowship Center, and a light lunch will be offered for those attending the Meeting.  One of the features of this meeting will be the election of Officers and Board Members for the next terms of service.  Are you willing to serve?  Is there a place that you would like to use your time and talent?  If so, please do not wait for someone to ask you…consider this that invitation!  If you would like to know more about the positions available, please contact the church office!  ALSO…. on the agenda will be nominating pastors for the offices of Texas District President and District Area C Vice President.  Cross has the opportunity to nominate two names each.  We will also select the Lay Delegate from Cross to attend the Texas District Convention, June 14-16 in Dallas.  Thank you!

TEXAS DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL CHURCH WORKERS CONFERENCE
Every three years, the entire roster of the church workers in Texas gathers for a joint Conference of encouragement, nourishment, and fellowship.  That takes place Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon, at Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio.  Please pray for safe travel for all involved, and an uplifting time for those who gather to teach and learn, to rest and grow.

SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASSES
Pastor Fraker leads the Class that meets in the Fellowship Center.  We are doing a Bible Readings Review—we discuss the daily readings of God’s Word for the week past.  James Smith leads a study entitled:  “This is the Life”, and that Class meets in the Parlor.  Pastor Rick Miller leads a Class that is studying the book of Revelation, and it meets in the Music Room—the room adjacent to the large kitchen in the Fellowship Center.

GLUTEN-FREE COMMUNION WAFERS
Pastor Fraker is able to provide gluten-free wafers at the Lord’s Supper.  If you desire to receive the special wafer, please contact the church office so we can make a note of it.  Thank you!

NEW MEMBERS
Welcomed as new members Sunday, September 24, were Toby & Tiffany Melcher, and their children. Also confirmed were  Faith Meghan Austin and her fiancé, Frankie Reyes; and confirming their baptismal vows were Matt & Courtney Man and welcoming their children into the Cross family.

MEN’S BREAKFAST BIBLE CLASS (M.B.B.C.)
We are studying the letters of the Apostle John.  His three epistles are brief, but packed with rich and deep words that guide and empower our lives as disciples of Jesus today!  We have great discussion, great food, and rich blessing!  We meet each Friday morning from 6:30 until 7:30 a.m. at the I-HOP here in town—on the frontage road of I-35.  Men, bring your Bibles, your friends, and your appetites…and see you then!
