The regular meeting of the Voters Assembly of Cross Lutheran Church & School was held Tuesday. A budget of approximately 1.740 million dollars was approved for the next fiscal year—which begins July 1. Other new business was considered and approved, including the establishment of a policy whereby we as a congregation will tithe (give 10% as a first fruits offering response) on undesignated estate gifts. When they are completed by our congregation secretary, minutes from the meeting will be made available. For those, please contact Trixy in the church office. We rejoice in the bold and faith-ful way that the Lord of the Church continues to guide, bless, and lead us! May we with bold faith continue to follow Him as we build His kingdom here and beyond our doors!

Dear Cross Lutheran Church and School,

My wife Roseann and I are beyond pleased to accept the assignment for vicarage at Cross this upcoming August.  We did not imagine that Texas was even a possibility, and we could not be more enthusiastic.  I was so shocked when I heard where I was going during the ceremony that I thought I was dreaming.  We cannot wait to arrive and meet all of you!

We both love Texas.  Roseann’s grandfather, Raymond, lives in Garland.  We have had the opportunity to visit a couple of times in the past few years.  Raymond is perhaps the oldest man to receive his pilot’s license.  He received it four years ago and helps test air planes that he builds.  Raymond is currently 92.

During a band trip in high school, I had the opportunity to visit San Antonio and have been hoping to take Roseann there ever since.  She and I are high school sweethearts, and we have been together for over ten years now.  As of June 22, four of those years were spent in marriage.

Thank you so much for providing us with this opportunity.  We are so excited to be able to serve your church. We believe we will feel very at home at Cross.  Surprisingly, our home church in Yorkville, IL is also called Cross Lutheran, and we also have a K-8th grade school, which Roseann attended.

Once again thank you so much.  Our excitement is too great for words!.  We cannot wait for August 1st when we will finally arrive!
