A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR DON FRAKER and PASTOR MARK (ON WEDNESDAY, March 18, 2020)

Greetings, Cross family, in the name of Christ Jesus! On behalf of myself and Pastor Mark, I’m writing a somewhat lengthy letter that will hopefully provide you with as much information as we have right now! And, as you have perhaps already seen, things are changing rather quickly. We are committed to keeping our church family as up to date as possible.

  • First and foremost: the promises of God wonderfully proclaimed in Psalm 91:1-2, 14-16—

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’… Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

  • We’re writing to say that at this time we will not be gathering physically for Worship activities in our Sanctuary for the near future. There will be no Lenten Wednesday Services; there will be no Worship, Sunday School, or Bible Classes on our campus on Sundays. For how long? For at least the next few Sundays. We will come to you with more information as more information becomes available.
  • Pastor Mark & I (and the time and talents of several others!) are working now to make a time of Worship available electronically. This will be coming to you on Facebook Live as well as via this link on our website: (http://crosslcms.org/videos.html).
  • I’ll remind you that if you have not already given the church office your email address, please do so! You can call Trixy at 830-625-3666, or email her at churchsec@crosslcms.org – We thank you for taking the time to update your information with Trixy!
  • Even though it will look and be somewhat different, we are still here and we are still able to do ministry and pastoral care even if/when you cannot travel to our church campus, and even if we are not able to visit with you in person. Please utilize the phone, email, even texting with cell phones. We pray for you—we know that whatever is going on or is going to come is no surprise to our good, gracious, omnipotent Lord! Do you need help or some kind of assistance? Please let us know!
  • Technologically speaking, while I do not begin to know all there is to know, I trust that Pastor Mark does—or is getting there very quickly! So, he says that as you are able, please “LIKE” us on Facebook. Liking our church page will benefit us greatly as we seek to grow in using social media for its greatest benefit.
  • Perhaps you’ve thought of this, perhaps not, but I will encourage you to continue to joyfully and regularly respond to God’s love with your offerings. While certainly some things are not happening on campus, most certainly salaries and bills continue. Perhaps this is the opportune time for you to explore and/or participate in electronic or online giving. If you have questions about that, please let Trixy know, and she will get the right person in contact with you. Of course, you may mail in your offering envelopes; you may bring them by the church office as well. Whatever way you prefer, we seek to facilitate continual giving as seamlessly as possible. And, thank you for your faithful stewardship of treasure—as well as of time and talent!
  • And speaking of time and talent: How are you? Do you need any help in any way? Please do not hesitate to be in touch with us! Or: Are you able to offer assistance to a church family member who needs something picked up, or delivered, etc.? If so, once again—please notify Trixy and we will seek to continue to grow and go for each other…even while we are not able to physically gather with each other.

I look forward to the time when we will be back in our Sanctuary, back to doing ministry together as we are accustomed, and back to when I am able to say with joy and accuracy: “See you in church!”

In the name of the Lord Jesus, and giving thanks through Him – Colossians 3:17,

A  MESSAGE FROM PASTOR DON FRAKER and PASTOR MARK/March 17, 2020

I greet you in Christ’s name. On behalf of Pastor Mark, I’m sending this message to remind you that your pastors are praying daily for you, your health & strength, and for the Lord to continue to be with you in these days.

I’m also sharing that at this time we will not be gathering physically for Worship activities in our Sanctuary for the near future. There will be no Lenten Wednesday Services; there will be no Worship, Sunday School, or Bible Classes on our campus on Sundays. For how long? For at least the next two Sundays—March 22 and March 29. We will come to you with more information as more information becomes available.

Also—as we continue to pray for Cathy Patton & her family—there will not be a funeral Service for Clarence Patton at this time.

I can tell you that Pastor Mark & I are planning to make Worship available electronically. This will be coming to you on Facebook Live as well as via our website. I’ll be sending more information about that very soon.

I’ll remind you that if you have not already given the church office your email address, please do so! You can call Trixy at 830-625-3666, or email her at churchsec@crosslcms.org

Finally, if you were planning this Saturday to attend either the Lutheran Hr Ministries gathering or LWML Zone Rally, those have been cancelled.

God’s peace to you, and until I can again say, “see you in church”, I will simply say Jesus loves you, and so do your pastors. Please call the church if you need anything!
