SPECIAL SERVICES & CROSS TIES ASSEMBLY PARTY is Friday, December 21, at 9:00 a.m. in the Music Room located in the Fellowship Center if you would like to help.

The tradition continues!  The Season of Advent begins on Sunday, December 2.  While the Liturgical Color of the Advent Season is
blue, and the theological framework and focus is the coming of Christ…the “unofficial” flavor of the season is CHOCOLATE!  Once again this year—Pastor Fraker’s Study will be decked out with all kinds of chocolaty goodness…and you are invited to sample and enjoy!  Stop by and treat yourself to some Advent/Christmas chocolate cheer!

Spencer Gremmer has “stepped down from the podium” of directing the Cross Adult Choir.  Thank you, Spencer, for your years of dedicated and wonderful service and leadership in this way for the music ministry of Cross!  In addition, we welcome to the podium Mary Miller, who has taken up the baton!  God’s rich blessings to you, Mary, as you serve and lead in this way, and thank you!

SANCTUARY SIDE DOORS ARE ATTENDED! – For those with mobility issues, and for the occasional inclement weather—the north side doors of the Sanctuary are available.  You will find them attended prior to each Sunday Morning Worship Service.  IF YOU LEAVE THE SANCTUARY THROUGH THOSE DOORS, please close them tightly behind you…they do not close without help!  Thank you!

NEW ELECTED ELDERS AND BOARD MEMBERS please notify Glen Hendricks, or 210-287-2498, if you would like a key card or fob.

SCRIP is sold in the large kitchen on Sundays during the fellowship time and in the school office during weekday business hours. Thanks for your generosity and support!

“…I was hungry and you gave me food…” – Matthew 25:35 – ESV
Remember that we now have
two “food drives”, two different Sundays each month!  On the first Sunday of the month we gather canned goods, etc., for the Spirit of Sharing (SOS) Food Bank.  This we have done for decades!  Thank you!!  In addition to all kinds of canned goods, they certainly welcome bags of sugar, flour, and the like.

We are just in the third month of our newest drive!  On the third Sunday of each month, we gather food for “Cross Cares”—a partnership we have with Gruene United Methodist congregation and their outreach efforts to the homeless in our city.  That “menu” is more specific:  easy-open containers of meats & fish, macaroni & cheese, fruit cups…ready-to-eat kinds of things that can be placed in the bags and distributed to those in need.  Once again, thank you!!

This year we will be collecting for people that need assistance in our area. will collect ANYTHING that people might need as the weather turns colder. Examples are new or gently used coats (all sizes), blankets, sleeping bags, easily opened/ready-to-eat food items, sweatshirts, and clothing. will begin collecting on Sunday, December 9, and will continue through mid January. Please bring items to the Sanctuary Narthex or the Office. you for sharing God’s love with those in need.

Cross Lutheran Church members are now able to give their contributions to the Lord and their church by way of our church website (see the Home Page).
We now have a button titled Give Online. Click there and you will go to the online Giving Site and then follow the directions. The financial site is completely secure and reports of your giving are sent to Jim Arnold, the Financial Secretary at Cross.

This Online Giving provides you with the ability to give by self-directed bank transfers, or you may use your debit or credit card, or you may select a one-time gift or set up recurring contributions to the General Fund and Building Ministry Fund, as well as other ‘listed’ funds, including a limited number for our School Ministry.

If you are currently a ‘Simply Giving’ participant and wish to change to online giving—you will need to contact Mr. Arnold to let him know you wish to stop that method of giving, otherwise those contributions will continue.

In addition, visitors to our website will also be able to give a contribution to Cross Lutheran in the same way.
