Pastor’s Potpourri
A number of things are on my mind…I’ll share a few:
September Comes Early! Well, actually, that’s not quite true… September comes like it always does—but our CrossWalk ministry (7th & 8th Grade Confirmation, midweek school for grades 1-6) begins early in September this year! Wednesday, September 3rd, to be exact! That’s the first Wednesday after Labor Day Weekend (which is also early this year!) So—stay tuned to Sunday bulletin announcements through the month of August so that you’re ready to join us! STORMING THE GATE IN 2008! With these hot days of summer…when our prayer for rain continues close to the top of the list…refreshment is something we’re looking for. As God’s people, the most refreshing place we can be…is not Schlitterbahn, believe it or not! When it comes to spiritual refreshment…nothing “beats the heat” of life like the Word & Sacraments, which we celebrate & receive in Sunday morning worship. I encourage you to say: “If we’re in town, we’re in church!” Both attendance and giving have been sinking to levels that concern me. Like the aquifer that gives water to our community, the resources that we as the Cross Family provide throughout the year keep our ministry moving forward. Please continue to respond to God & His love in the awesome ways that I have seen in the past! And God’s blessings to you as you do!
